Pre-shoot prep - How to photograph a funeral..

The job today.. Photographing the funeral of the father of one of my dads friends. Never done this before, so the good old internet helped me out there - http://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-photograph-a-funeral-4-tips-i-hope-you-never-have-to-use

So far, I know I only need to photograph the end of the ceremony at the crematorium with the flowers, so being non-intrusive and invisible will be a key point to me. I have already spoken to the client beforehand to discuss the requirements, which is doubly important than just turning up and snapping away, as you would assume.

I'll be on a 17-50 and a 50 f/1.4 predominantly, nothing fancy or on a large scale, and definitely no flash.

I'm off later on so you shall hear how it went later this afternoon!

Gettin' Hitched?

A quick still from the wedding I shot with John Harris Wedding Films yesterday at Wotton House in Surrey. Awesome day, and Harry and Sammi are a lovely couple! wottonhousewedding

It's always a blast working with John and Ashleigh, especially when I get to shoot on a 5D with a Glidetrack slider! John shot some awesome footage from his areal camera too!

What I've been up to.. Green Screen shooting and a Wedding at Hampton Court Palace!

What I've been up to.. Green Screen shooting and a Wedding at Hampton Court Palace!

Had another hectic week of filming for a compositing project, this time with a make shift green screen studio in my garden! Keep up with the blog to see the work in progress and the final product; a UFO film trailer! I'm compositing it together in The Foundry Nuke, the industry standard 3D compositing software for film and television, first designed for James Cameron's 'Titanic', and more recently used to create the amazing landscapes in Avatar, for the VFX in Iron Man and so many more! I was also filming the wedding of Andy and Ting at Hampton Court Palace! It was my first outdoor ceremony which was fantastic with the great weather we're having, as well as having beautiful decorations and the couple were just fantastic! Plus, the grooms god father is Theo Paphetis who was a lovely chap to film! Follow and share for more fun!
